Residential Children's Home Manager - East Sussex - Up to £46k

Hampton's Resourcing are proud to be working with a Specialist Children's Residential Services provider to recruit for a challenging yet rewarding Registered Manager's role, based in East Sussex. The homely 4 bedded home sits widely across 6 acres of beautiful East Sussex countryside with comfortable shared spaces. It recognises the importance of both companionship and privacy which is reflected in the layout and atmosphere of the home.

Our client aims to create a family atmosphere for children aged 5 to 19 years old, where the experienced staff team can build strong and trusting relationships. They specialise in caring for children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties and associated mild learning disabilities, autistic spectrum disorder and or ADH.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the highest possible standards of care and ensure that each child's agreed placement plan is fully implemented
  • Ensure full participation and co-operation with quality assurance systems, including taking responsibility for all documents and duties associated with regulatory compliance, e.g., the Statement of Purpose, and the Ofsted annual inspection process
  • Implement the Health & Safety policies and ensure that all staff are aware of all Health & Safety procedures
  • Ensure best outcomes for children and young people through providing up-to-date leadership and coaching in childcare practice within the home
  • Ensure that any matters relating to child protection are managed in line with current legislation, quality standards and best safeguarding practice.
  • Ensure that you and your management team continually support both childcare delivery and staff development through supervisions
  • The potential to cover other homes in the branch if necessary

Skills and Experience:

  • 2 years' recent, proven management and supervision experience within a children's home
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent as defined by the DFE Guide to Children's Homes Regulations, 2015)
  • NVQ Level 5 (or willingness to undertake)
  • Detailed knowledge regarding social, emotional and mental health difficulties relating to children and young people
  • Proficiency in written/verbal communication and computer literacy
  • Ability to build strong working relationships at all levels
