Senior Support Worker - Nuneaton - Up to £35K

Hamptons is delighted to collaborate with a devoted Children's Residential Community situated in the semi-rural surroundings of Nuneaton.

Location: Nuneaton, North Warwickshire
Contracted Hours: Full Time (shift work based on 2 days on and 4 off)
Salary: £14.54 an hour (£35,00 per year salary inc sleep ins)
On Call payments also made at an additional rate of £40 per day.

Main responsibilities and duties:

  • Working with the Management team to ensure that systems and standards are maintained at a high-quality level.
  • You will be nominated daily shift lead, by planning organising and ensuring completion of team duties for the day and handover to oncoming shifts.
  • You must be able to motivate, support and guidance for staff on duty, on all shifts. Provide Staff supervision and appraisals.
  • To provide on call support for staff, from home on a rota basis.
  • Organising rotas and ensuring correct deployment of staff team
  • To actively promote and take part in social, leisure, educational, life skills, holidays and other activities with children and young people.
  • To support each young person to maintain a high standard of personal care; including intimate care, personal hygiene, health and sexual health needs and awareness and any mobility support that is needed.
  • To support the medical health needs of children and young people, inclusive of medication administration, medical appointments and therapeutic and mental health and wellbeing needs.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in children residential care or similar experience is necessary for this role.
  • A level 3 in Children and Young Peoples Workforce or equivalent is essential for this role.
  • Full UK driving license
  • Aged 18 or over
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Flexibility to work on a rota basis
  • Investment in all employees, a full programme of mandatory training for the role as part of an induction and then further bespoke training provided.
  • This role involves working SLEEP-INS on a rota basis, you must be fully flexible to meet the needs of the children we care for.
